COVID-19 Response

As the health and safety of our guests and staff are our top priority, The Play Cafe has and will continue to take guidance from the South African Government and Local Health Authorities. We will continually adjust operations, health and safety measures in response to Covid-19.

The following measure has currently been implemented:

Limited Attendance

Controlled guest density as a deliberate approach to safety that supports government guidance on physical distancing.

Appropriate face masks to be worn by all

All guests and staff, including children will be required to wear an appropriate face covering at all times except when eating. Please also be mindful of our existing rule to always wear socks.

Screening & Sanitizing Stations

Temperature screening will be done on entrance. Anyone with a temperature of 37.5 and above will be denied admission and will be asked to seek medical attention. In addition to temperature screening we are required by law to record our guests names, contact details and a number of screening questions.

We have hand sanitizer stations throughout and sanitizing of hands is compulsory on entry.

Enhanced cleaning procedures

We further increased the frequency of cleaning measures in addition to the standards of cleanliness already in place. All staff sanitize their hands every 20-minutes and sanitize before serving any guest drinks or food.

Expanded health and safety training

As we welcome guests, our staff will play a key role in guiding and explaining new measures to guests, answering any questions and encouraging everyone to follow measures to promote the health and safety of us all.
